Position Description

The Project Associate will work under the supervision of the Program Director, implementing Parisar’s activities under the 'Improving Pune’s Air Quality' project, with a focus on advocacy and awareness of the issue.  

This role is based in Pune and candidates will be liasoning with the air quality network in Pune, various stakeholders as well as government officials.

Length of employment

Full-time position, 12 months contract, with the option to renew beyond.

About you

The ideal candidate will have prior and sound experience working in an NGO or company focused on sustainability, or environment and will be comfortable in an interdisciplinary and diverse NGO environment that works in partnership and collaboration with different stakeholders. You are a flexible and adaptable team-player. Knowledge and /or work experience in the field of air quality will be an additional qualification. 

You have excellent campaign and advocacy skills. You have expertise in project management, implementation and grantee oversight. You are fluent in English and Marathi / Hindi and are able to communicate concepts clearly to different categories of stakeholders. 

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Environment Science or Social Work
  • 3-4 years of experience in the development sector.
  • Computer skills including MS Office, G Suite, etc.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Broad understanding of sustainable development and air quality.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English and Hindi / Marathi.
  • Experience in conducting educational workshops and sessions on the subject matter with various stakeholders
  • Organizing successful stakeholder engagement meetings, conferences, as well as public events. 
  • Report writing
  • Creating impactful IEC (Information, Education, and Communication) materials, including posters, social media content, and other engaging formats, to effectively raise awareness and drive engagement.
  • Familiarity with design tools like Figma, Canva, Adobe, etc

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience with organizations working on the environment or air quality.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms
  • Video editing skills

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Supporting Parisar in the overall management and implementation of the 'Improving Pune’s Air Quality' project. 
  • Responsible for overall monitoring and reporting progress of the project to the senior management, funders and the public in general. 
  • Coordinating with Parisar team and external partners for development of appropriate communication materials, documents, advocacy briefs, and related materials to drive key project activities. 
  • Collaborating with network partners
  • Developing relevant government, media and sectoral partnerships to facilitate stakeholder engagement and alignment. 
  • Setting up contracts and developing contract schedules in conjunction with associates, volunteers and partners.
  • Collaborating with the Parisar team during city-based and organizational events and important campaign and advocacy activations. 
  • Writing articles for Parisar website and newsletter.
  • Supporting capacity building activities and being part of them as and when required.
  • Any other duties in line with the job role as requested by the Program Director.

Compensation

Rs. 45,000/- to Rs. 50,000/-  per month depend on qualifications, skills, and relevant experience.

Parisar has a fair and competitive salary structure that allows for annual progression subject to good performance.
