The University announced a ban on private motorised vehicles in their 411 acre campus, allowing only battery operated vehicles and bicycles within the campus. The decision announced by Shri W N Gade, Vice Chancellor of the university has been motivated by the wish to make the campus vehicle pollution free.
Parisar welcomes this move and has taken the opportunity to congrulate Mr Gade on the decision, along with informing him of the possibility of a public bicycle system within and/ or around the campus. This could be done under the Public Bicycle Scheme to be implemented in Pune, as part of the Smart city mission.
